As part of our effort to highlight personal connections to public lands, we are featuring a memory sent in by one of our followers. These stories remind us why protecting these spaces matters.

This is a picture from a camping trip I took over the summer with my friends and my cousin from Argentina. Wanting to show him the true beauty of Colorado we camped as close as we could to telluride avoiding an immense amount of people. This two day trip to Silverton where we had no service was some of the most peaceful days of my life. We got to see beautiful glacier lakes on a six mile hike near our campsite and got to try fresh produce at a market right outside the camp site. I can’t wait to return to this beautiful place and believe that this is a place that everyone needs to visit.
